City Harvest

http://www.cityharvest.org

1.5 million New Yorkers currently live in poverty, struggling to afford basic necessities such as rent and medical care and put food on their tables.

City Harvest helps feed over 300,000 people each week.

• We rescue over 83,000 pounds of food each day.

•We regularly give food to nearly 600 community programs.

• It costs City Harvest 27 cents to rescue a pound of food.

In our first month, City Harvest served 55 community food programs in New York City. Today we help feed people at nearly 600 programs. Our goal is to grow our operations to address the demand for emergency food.

KittyKaretakers

Founded by Patty Kline in 2001, KittyKaretakers is dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of stray and feral kittens and cats in the New York City metro area. KittyKaretakers works with volunteers and local organizations to provide basic medical services as well as temporary placement and adoption services for all of their rescues.

Today, KittyKaretakers consists of a small group of dedicated and reliable volunteers who all work together towards adoptions in the NYC-metro area as well as temporary placement in foster homes to help all our cats in need.

Every year we hold a people food drive and a pet food drive. We ask all attendees to contribute what they can. Over the past ten years we have collected and donated over a ton of food to people and animals in the NYC area! Every bit helps. If you can’t bring a donation of non perishable items with you to the park, please donate to these wonderful organizations who help make a difference in our city.
