Opened in early 2011 by Chef Jody Williams, Buvette Gastrotheque is inspired by the European traditions that honor a history of craft and design where each detail evokes a sense of story, place and delight. Part restaurant, part bar, part café, Buvette Gastrotheque combines the elegance of an old world cafe with the casual nature of a neighborhood eatery. It is a light filled space for an early morning espresso or a long lunch of shared dishes, even a spot for a late night digestif. Buvette is “a place committed to the pleasure of good food.” Occupying a handsomely renovated store front on a tree lined block in the historic West Village, Buvette is open continuously (sunlight to candlelight) for breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring an array of French wine, as well the best and closest sourced meat and produce of the season.
