Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that Hudson Link's free weekend shuttle bus servicing the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge shared-use path will restart service this Saturday, May 25, and continue every weekend through Sunday, October 27. Pedestrians and cyclists will once again be able to use this easy and convenient service to access one of the longest and most scenic shared-use paths in the country. The shuttle service will operate from select locations in Westchester and Rockland counties and transport passengers to the path’s landing sites on either side of the Hudson River.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the completion of a new $6.8 million multi-use trail at Allegany State Park that provides an accessible alternative for bikers, hikers and campers to reach the park's popular Quaker Lake beach area. The new trail is open in time for the summer camping season at Allegany State Park, which boasts the largest campground in the state park system.

Whiteface Uphill Bike RaceWilmington, NY (May 9, 2023) - The Whiteface Mountain region of upstate New York is gearing up to host a series of race events this June. The Whiteface Mountain Uphill Bike and Foot races, along with the Wilmington Whiteface mountain bike race, take place in early June. The Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run takes place a few weeks later, closer to the end of the month.

 Rochester, N.Y., May 8, 2023—The George Eastman Museum has announced that it will resume its series of four family-friendly George Eastman Bike Tours, beginning on Saturday, May 13 at 10 a.m. Each tour is $25 per person for members and $30 for non-members, and advance registration is required at eastman.org/biketours, as space is limited to 12 participants. Registration is also open for the June 17, July 15, and September 9 bike tours.

Little Falls CyclistsWaterford, N.Y. -- The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the New York State Canal Corporation, through the Reimagine the Canals initiative, are pleased to announce that 38 non-profit organizations and municipalities will receive grants in 2022 totaling $259,300. The grants will support 11 tourism infrastructure and amenity improvements and 27 events along the NYS Canal System. The grants range from $500 to $24,000 and will leverage an estimated $1.2 million in additional support.

Women's Woodstock Cycling Grand PrixWoodstock, NY (April 1, 2022) – On Sunday, May 1, the Women’s Woodstock Cycling Grand Prix (WWCGP) will be celebrating its 10th year! The annual bicycle race will feature a world-class race course staged in New York’s Catskill Mountains for women athletes competing in Pro 1/2/3 and Cat 3/4/Novice road racing.

The WWCGP is USA Cycling-sanctioned and racers come from all over the Northeast corridor as well as from the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. This destination event has increased substantially in popularity due to the fact that only a few USA Cycling-sanctioned 100 km+ road races include the popular “out-and-back” race format in North America.

Progress Continues along Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor

The New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Transportation (DOT), in cooperation with the Office of General Services (OGS), today announced the completion of the transfer of jurisdiction for a 34-mile segment of the Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor. This portion of the future Adirondack Rail Trail between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid was transferred from DOT to DEC, marking the official start of the trail’s design and construction phase and the conversion of the railbed into a shared-use path for hikers, bikers, cross-country skiers, and snowmobile enthusiasts.
