Ticonderoga, N.Y. -- Fort Ticonderoga, a museum, National Historic Landmark historic site, and major cultural destination, announces the OPENING of a major new 250th Anniversary exhibit program entitled, A Revolutionary Anthology.  The first year of this exhibit program, A Revolutionary Anthology: Power of Place, is now open to the public through October 27, 2024.

Independence Day Weekend 2024Experience the American Revolution on the very ground on which the fight for liberty occurred

Ticonderoga, N.Y. -- Fort Ticonderoga will celebrate Independence Day with special events and programs throughout the holiday weekend, July 4-7, 2024. Experience the Revolutionary War on the very ground where Continental Army soldiers fought for liberty. Guests will see first-hand the American soldiers and women who fought bravely against a larger British Army and Navy as costumed museum staff recreate the struggle for independence at Ticonderoga in 1777.

OlanaHudson, NY - The Olana Partnership will hold its monthly FREE Third Thursday on June 20th from 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Olana State Historic Site. Olana Third Thursdays are monthly community days of free tours and programs for all ages. Beginning in June, each Third Thursday will feature an outdoor musical performance in addition to monthly free tours, programs, and extended evening hours.

PR - PTH June 2024Norwich, N.Y. – The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) will again participate in the semi-annual state-wide festivities known as Path Through History weekend on June 16. As part of the celebration, the museum is hosting special open hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.

NYS Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation 100Redefining the Family: The Livingstons and the Institution of Slavery in Early America will be on view at Clermont State Historic Site from June 23, 2024–June 22, 2025.

Germantown, NY – On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Clermont State Historic Site will open its newest exhibition Redefining The Family: The Livingstons and the Institution of Slavery in Early America. Drawn from research completed by Livingston descendant, Pennsylvania State Representative Christopher Rabb, the exhibition explores the life of Rabb’s great-great-great-grandmother Christiana Taylor Livingston Williams Freeman (1812-1909)– who was born to a Black enslaved mother and her enslaver, a White Livingston– and Rabb’s journey validating his family’s oral history about his lineage.

Ticonderoga, N.Y. -- Fort Ticonderoga celebrates National Maritime Day, May 22, with a new 2024 historic boat building program and narrated boat tours aboard the 60 ft Carillon Boat on Lake Champlain. The maritime trades program is available daily Tuesday-Sunday throughout the season. The Carillon boat tours will begin on May 24th and run through October.

The lecture, From Badge of Military Merit to Purple Heart, will be presented on Saturday, May 25th at 2pm.  General George Washington, while headquartered in Newburgh, created the Badge of Military Merit on August 7th, 1782.

WORLD WAR II ENCAMPMENT & MILITARY DISPLAYS

On Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, the The Duffle Bag of Patterson, New York, will present a weekend of historic military displays and a World War II encampment on the Roosevelt Library's front lawn.
