Smith Jr. Carp 2022Waddington, NY.  - The 20th Annual St. Lawrence International Jr. Carp Tournament will be held August 3 – 5, 2023.  To commemorate this milestone, organizers are planning additional highlights; to include inviting all Grand Champions to return, along with many others who were instrumental in its popularity and success throughout the years, beginning in 2003. The tournament takes place on the banks of the St. Lawrence River along a 30 miles stretch of New York’s northern border, stretching from Massena to Ogdensburg, testing the skill and techniques of young carp anglers over two days.

Rochester, NY (March 21, 2023) —The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival producers Marc Iacona and John Nugent today announced the lineup for the Festival's nine-day 20th Anniversary Edition to be held from June 23 to July 1 in 19 venues in downtown Rochester, New York.

Ticonderoga, NY - Fort Ticonderoga, a major cultural destination, museum, and National Historic Landmark, has been awarded a $10,000 Regrowth and Capacity Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). The grant funds will provide support to Fort Ticonderoga to broaden visitor accessibility both digitally as well as on-site with increased and improved wayfinding. Fort Ticonderoga is partnering with New York University (NYU) and Brawn Media to develop an improved visitor experience for all.

New York, NY ( March 21, 2023) – Alchemical Theatre presents When Your Soulmate Dies, a performance by legendary comedian Steve Epstein, who honors his late wife and comedy partner, Naimah Hassan, by delivering a new chapter of their timeless wisdom, compassion and humorous ‘BlackJewLove’ commentary on class race, class, sexuality, and grieving. Written by Epstein and Hassan, performances are Saturdays at 7:30p.m. from March 25-June 24, 2023, at Alchemical Theatre, 50 West 17th Street, 12th Floor in New York City.

Announcing Clinton County’s Semiquincentennial Anniversary Steering Committee

Plattsburgh, N.Y. – The CCHA Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the award of a 2023 Local Heritage Grant from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership totaling $8000.  The purpose of this grant is to form a team, identify a leader within that team and prepare a plan to make the America250 commemoration of our nation’s founding the most comprehensive and inclusive celebration in our County’s history, using as a guide the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission’s mission and vision.

Mumford, NY (March 21, 2023) – Genesee Country Village & Museum has announced the lineup of speakers in its Spring Lecture Series (Saturday, April 1, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) on the topic of 19th-century fashion and textile history. This day-long program features four presenters speaking on different subjects, culminating with keynote speaker Susan W. Greene, namesake and donor of the Susan Greene Costume Collection housed in the John L. Wehle Gallery at GCV&M.

Brooklyn, NY – Molière in the Park, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, will present the English language world premiere of Molière’s TARTUFFE OR THE HYPOCRITE, reconstructed by Georges Forestier, translated by Maya Slater, and directed by Molière in the Park’s Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien.
