Fun Fridays at Pruyn House 2Latham, N.Y. – The Colonie Art League and the Friends of Pruyn House are co-sponsoring a Summer Art Camp at the Pruyn House, 207 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham, NY.  The dates are Friday, July 15, Friday, July 22, and Friday, July 29.

Black History DetectivesUtica, N.Y. - The Oneida County History Center and For the Good Inc. will host a community photo identification, and documentation event on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm to commemorate Juneteenth and encourage the preservation of preservation Black History in Oneida County.  The public is invited to help identify people, places, and events from photographs in the Oneida County Black History Archive (on loan from Hamilton College) and a selection of photos from the History Center archives.

In its 11th year, the fair is going intergalactic, with more vendors than ever before – 120-plus and counting – offering a multiverse of memorabilia including, paintings, crystals, tchotchkes, T-shirts and foods from across to solar system at booths and stands that will spread onto side streets.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the launch of a new season of free "On the Canals" excursions along the New York State Canal system. Now in its third year, this free recreational program, sponsored by the New York Power Authority and New York State Canal Corporation, offers unique opportunities to experience the waterways of the Canal system and the adjoining Empire State Trail. This summer's "On the Canals" excursions include kayaking, cycling, cruising, painting, birding, and accessible activities such as adaptive paddling and biking.

Astoria, New York, May 25, 2022 — On June 25, Museum of the Moving Image will open Living with The Walking Dead, a major new exhibition that explores the origins, production, fandom, and impact of the long-running AMC series. The exhibition will be accompanied by multiple screening series (to be announced) throughout its six-month run. Also in June, the Museum continues its 19-film survey of cinematographer James Wong Howe, with a newly added live online conversation about his legacy featuring two veteran Asian American cinematographers on June 5; a selection of four films directed by Michael Mann; and ongoing series focusing on nonfiction, animation, silent cinema, musicals, Science on Screen, and Jim Henson’s World, among others.
