Iroquois MuseumHowes Cave, NY–The Iroquois Museum in Howes Cave, NY, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, celebrating the completion of a $400,000 expansion to its 7,500-square-foot facility. 

“We’re excited to welcome visitors to our beautiful longhouse-inspired museum with a new, light-filled entrance—and to share even more Haudenosaunee culture through expanded exhibit space,” said Steph Shultes, Iroquois Museum Director.

Albany, N.Y. - Long before mushrooms and mycology captivated the public imagination, self-taught scientist Mary Banning dedicated her life to the study of fungi. However, due to her gender, her work remained unrecognized for almost 100 years. The New York State Museum's latest exhibit, "Outcasts: Mary Banning's World of Mushrooms," celebrates Banning's rich legacy as one of America's first mycologists, who uncovered, documented, and illustrated 23 fungal species new to science in the mid-1800s.

Saratoga Springs, NY (March 12, 2025) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces a screening series of experimental films and videos organized in conjunction with the exhibition a field of bloom and hum. Guest-curated by film scholar Jon Davies, the series begins March 20 and pulls out threads and expands on ideas in the exhibition, which celebrates on queer lives and networks.

Thing + YOUA hybrid online and in-person exhibition where visitors can interact with livestreamed performances

Astoria, New York, March 10, 2025 — Since 2021, the artist collective "is this thing on?," whose members are Christopher Clary, Sarah Rothberg, Bhavik Singh, and Molly Soda, have pushed the boundaries of live, interactive performances with their artist-run platform thing.tube. From April 12 through August 10, 2025, Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) will present their fifth season, THING+YOU, an exhibition that blends the collective’s real-time online interactions with in-person encounters, marking the first time the performances will exist in a hybrid space and in a museum. THING+YOU is organized by MoMI Associate Curator of Media Arts Regina Harsanyi.

Hallockville Museum FarmRiverhead, N.Y. – Hallockville Museum Farm at 6038 Sound Ave, in Riverhead will host an afternoon of honeybee education and honey harvesting on Saturday, March 15 from 3 – 5 p.m. Master Beekeeper Chris Kelly of Promise Land Apiaries will explain the wondrous work of honeybees and will harvest and bottle honey taken directly from Hallockville’s hives.
