Through March 8, 2025, Olympic Authority venues, the Village of Lake Placid, and the Lake Placid Olympic Museum are hosting a range of engaging activities, events, and commemorations that honor the iconic moments and remarkable achievements that have shaped this winter sports haven.

Governor Kathy Hochul today highlighted the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority 2025 winter events schedule featuring World Cup events in three different sports and the International Bobsled & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships set for March 2025 showcasing the Olympic legacy that continues in Lake Placid. The announcement follows the recent news that Lake Placid has entered targeted dialogue as the Plan B backup for sliding events for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) 2024-2025 events calendar featuring World Cup events in three different sports and the International Bobsled & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships set for March 2025. The announcement follows the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games and Team USA’s success, earning an impressive total of 126 medals, including 40 gold.

The Capital Region’s first-ever Pride Ski Weekend will be held January 20 – 21 at Belleayre Mountain, featuring two fabulous days of slope-side fun for the LGBTQ+ community.

Lake Placid, N.Y. (September 15, 2023) – The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) announces that the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup will return to the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, February 9-11, 2024. This event joins the calendar with two additional World Cup events already confirmed for this winter season at Mt Van Hoevenberg: World Cup Luge on Dec. 8-9 and World Cup Bobsled & Skeleton on March 22-24. 

Lake Placid Loppet 2023Lake Placid, NY – The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) announces that the Lake Placid Loppet cross country ski races are returning to Mt Van Hoevenberg on February 26, 2023.

The Loppet first began in 1983 and is widely regarded as a quintessential Nordic ski celebration and a long-standing favorite among enthusiasts across the U.S. and Canada. The full day of ski race events is open to all ages and abilities, with starts and finishes in Mt Van Hoevenberg’s new stadium just outside its Mountain Pass Lodge.
