The 2020 coronavirus has not dampened Ganondagan’s desire—or ability—to promote and highlight Hodinöhsö:ni' art. With that, Friends of Ganondagan announces the call for entries for its fourth annual juried Hodinöhsö:ni’ Art Show to take place virtually beginning Friday, November 6 through December 31, 2020.

Immersive tour NOW OPEN to the public
New Paltz, NY – As a part of the museum’s 2020 initiative to shed light on the history of women’s rights, Historic Huguenot Street will honor the stories and celebrate the lives of Native women in the larger narrative of our communities. “The Power of Native Women” is a three-part multimedia event: Visitors can choose to attend in person Saturday, September 19 from 4 to 6 PM; join the museum online for a live-streaming of the speakers that same evening; and also attend follow-up themed virtual sessions to learn more on special topics.

Staatsburg, N.Y. — Staatsburgh State Historic Site will present stories for children outdoors on the mansion’s front portico on Saturday afternoons at 3pm in September. The 30-minute programs will feature stories from or about the Gilded Age. Selections from stories by Beatrix Potter (the author of Peter Rabbit) will be offered for children ages 5 to 7 on September 5 and 12. On September 19 and 26, selections from the story I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912 by Lauren Tarshis will be offered for children ages 8 to 11.

East Meredith, N.Y. – Catskills Folk Connection will present an exhibit of local artists, “Folk Art in Wood,” on view by reservation at Hanford Mills Museum from Wednesday, September 2 through October 15. The exhibit features artists who work with wood in a wide variety of ways.
