Catskill, NY (July 28, 2020) – The Thomas Cole National Historic Site announced today that it will unveil on Friday, August 7, The Pollinator Pavilion, a new outdoor architectural sculpture designed specifically for the Thomas Cole National Historic Site by internationally acclaimed artists Mark Dion and Dana Sherwood. Combining their well-known practice of making sitespecific installations and their fascination with nature, the interactive artwork is a fantastical architectural setting in which individuals can share miraculous moments with pollinators, while exploring a nurturing relationship with nature.

New York, N.Y. – New York: On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 12:00pm, Fraunces Tavern Restaurant will reopen to the public for outdoor dining for the first time since March 2020. From 2:00pm to 5:00pm, to celebrate the reopening, Allen Gogarty will perform live, and a four-story American Flag will be unfurled, that runs the length the building from the sidewalk to the roof.

Fraunces Tavern will serve popular items from lunch, brunch and dinner menus from 12:00-11:00pm along Pearl Street seven days a week, with over 400 whiskeys, signature cocktails, and 130 craft beers and ciders. The bar will also serve Samuel Fraunces® Ale, brewed by Flagship Brewing Co., newly released in spirited cans.

Fresh beauty co-founders design their first hotel inspired by the world of makers

Hudson, New York – July 28, 2020. The Maker Hotel, a new hotel from the co-founders of global beauty sensation Fresh, Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, and hospitality expert Damien Janowicz, will open on August 6th in the heart of historic downtown Hudson, New York. Housed in three historical buildings, the intimate 11-room property is a curated sanctuary with a bohemian sensibility fusing design from nineteenth-century Industrial, La Belle Époque, Art Deco and Mid-Century periods. Celebrating the world of all makers — artisans, artists, craftsmen and builders — each room at The Maker Hotel is designed to deliver an inspired and unique guest experience. Initially opening with a limited booking schedule, The Maker Hotel will expand offerings in the coming months based on guidelines and regulations regarding COVID-19.

Syracuse, NY (July 28, 2020) - The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) will be reopening to the public for weekends only on August 1, 2020.

The MOST visitor experience will be the same fun and engaging STEM education, but with changes to the interactivity of exhibits and programs. For health and safety purposes, we will be temporarily closing the IMAX and planetarium, the Science Playhouse, and BUILD. The Science Playhouse will be accessed by reservations only.

The museum is providing free digital access to a selection of preserved films

Rochester, N.Y., July 28, 2020—The George Eastman Museum recently launched an online project that provides access to a selection of digitized films from its moving image collection. To date, the museum has released 23 digitized films, including groundbreaking documentaries by Leo Hurwitz, a group of 13 rare screen tests from the David O. Selznick Collection (among them a screen test of the recently deceased Hollywood legend Olivia de Havilland for her signature role of Melanie in Gone with the Wind), and a Rochester-based film about Eastman Kodak Company. Offering a unique virtual experience with programming, lecture series, social media events, and other activities
