Miro QuartetCooperstown, N.Y. (July 8, 2024) - The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival presents the acclaimed Miró Quartet in "Voices from Home" on Thursday, July 18 at 7pm at The Farmers' Museum.

The program features works by Caroline Shaw, George Walker, Kevin Puts, and Franz Joseph Haydn, two of which are new commissions from their recently-released album Home. Celebrating 30 years as an ensemble in 2025, the GRAMMY-nominated quartet's new album explores the many meanings of “home” through works by four Pulitzer Prize-winning American composers.

New York, NY (July 9, 2024) — Hudson River Park today announced the lineup for its inaugural Broadway By The Boardwalk series, featuring free performances by Broadway artists for the public to enjoy on summer evenings in an intimate park setting. The series will be held on Mondays at 6:30pm from July 15 to August 5 at Hudson River Park’s Clinton Cove. Broadway by the Boardwalk is funded and supported by Hudson River Park Friends and is part of Hudson River Park’s 2024 season of summer programming, which features hundreds of free and fun music, fitness, environmental and dance events for all ages. The series is produced in partnership with Erich Bergen and 6W Entertainment.

Through a combination of demonstrations, vignettes, narrated boat cruises, and battle reenactments, visitors will experience the British advance for Lake George. Become immersed in this 18th-century siege; featuring the constant roar of cannon, thrilling battle reenactments, and even a nighttime program where visitors are immersed in the battle for Carillon, named Ticonderoga by the British once they capture the fort from the French.

Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a slate of events to countdown to the upcoming centennial of the Bear Mountain Bridge, the Hudson River’s first vehicular crossing south of Albany. Activities between now and November include an online pop-up shop, guided hiking tours, an art workshop, an international engineering conference, and a dedication ceremony.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the launch of the State’s nearly $2 million marketing initiative to promote New York’s more than 50 county and local fairs across the State. The efforts include launching television, radio, and digital advertisements and billboards, a new County Fairs Passport program, and a transportation grant program to help boost attendance at the state’s fairs, educate communities about the ways that fairs support local economies, and showcase New York State agriculture.
